Fit of Noise Isolating Earbuds

Noise isolating earbuds make it easy for you to enjoy your music on the go. The noise isolation comes from the usage of rubber tips that fit tightly inside your ears. This seal prevents outside noise from being let into your ears, so you can hear your audio with minimum disturbance (find more information about noise cancelling vs noise isolating in our Best Headphones for Airplane Travel Guide).

Everybody has slightly different ears and it’s absolutely crucial that the ear tips fit perfectly in your ears to isolate you ear channels efficiently. This is why good noise isolating earbuds come with different types of ear tips. A good fit is also a matter of comfort – small ear tips will fall out of large ears and large ear tips will not be comfortable in small ears.

All of the top 6 earbuds offer multiple choices of ear tips, most only small, medium & large. However, the RHA MA750i offer the most diverse sizes and materials to ensure a perfect fit. This includes foam ear tips, which give better noise isolation than the silicone ear tips that cheaper models offer.

2. Thinksound ts02

Thinksound ts02 8mmThe Thinksound ts02 are marketed as “eco-friendly”, and indeed packaging is completely recyclable and the earpieces are made out of wood. We do not strive to find environmentally friendly designs when we search for the top noise isolating earbuds. However, these are some overall excellent noise isolating earbuds, and the wood design helps in terms that it creates a lightweight product with very natural sound.

Beyond natural and lovely sound, they deliver resonating, deep bass. The clarity and level of detail that is provided is impressive. A microphone and remote is also included.

The noise isolation of the Thinksound ts02 is good, although they can’t beat the RHA MA750i in the category. But on the other hand, the Thinksound ts02 costs significantly less.
