Charging AirPods Pro

It might seem difficult to tell if your AirPods Pro are charging because there is no steady charging light.  If you do not have your phone nearby, we will lay out ways to easily check on the status of Charging AirPods Pro device. This article will show you how to determine if your AirPods Pro earbuds charged properly and what to do if they don’t.

How do I Know if My AirPods Pro are Charging?

Check the Status Light for the Case

1.The case will charge your AirPods Pro when you place them inside the charging case. The status light can be checked by opening the lid with the AirPods Pro inside and verifying that it is charging.

If the status light is lit continuously and is either amber or orange, it means that your AirPods are being charged.  The status light will turn green when your AirPods have fully charged.

2. Connect your AirPods Pro to a charger in order to check if the charging status of the case is correct. An LED light will appear for approximately 8 seconds when you place the charging case on a MagSafe, Qi-certified wireless charging mat, or connect it to an electrical charger. This light will indicate whether your AirPods have been charged.

Your AirPods Pro or case will charge if the light is orange or amber.  If the light turns green, your AirPods Pro or case are fully charged.  The status light won’t stay lit while charging. After 8 seconds of connecting the AirPods Pro Case to a charger the status light will turn on. This could cause it to appear that your AirPods aren’t charging.

3.You can tap the charging case to check the status of a wireless charging mat. If you are using a wireless charger, the lid must be closed to activate the status light.

You can use a Lightning cable instead of a wireless mat to charge your device. To do this, tap the case while it is charging.

Check the charge status on your iPhone or iPad

Open the AirPods Pro Case with your AirPods inside. A pop-up window will open on your screen displaying the charging status and battery levels of the AirPods Pro case and the AirPods Pro.

The AirPods Pro’s battery indicator will display a lightning bolt icon. This indicates that the AirPods Pro are charging within the case. If the lightning bolt is absent, either the AirPods Pro are not in their case or the case has not been charged.

The case’s battery indicator will display a lightning bolt. This indicates that it is charging. This icon is only visible if the case has been charged.  Siri can also be asked, “What’s the AirPods battery charge?” You can also use the Battery widget to monitor your battery and charge status.

Check the Charge Status of a Mac

  1. Open your AirPods charging box or take your AirPods out of the case. You can check your Bluetooth settings to see if your AirPods Pro is charging.
  2. Click the Bluetooth icon. It is located in the menu bar at the top-right corner. Your AirPods Pro will be listed under the devices list.
  3. Click on the AirPods entry in Bluetooth menu. Now you can see the charge level and case.

You won’t find a lightning bolt on your iPhone or iPad to indicate that your AirPods Pro have been charged. However, if the battery percentage keeps increasing, it is a sign that your AirPods Pro have been charged.  Siri can also be asked, “What’s the battery life of my AirPods?” for a quick status check.

Check the Charge Status of Android or Chromebook

You can use AirBattery on Android to check the status of your AirPods Pro’s battery. It works just like an iPhone or iPad. The AirBattery app is available for free in the Play Store.  A lightning bolt indicator will be displayed on each AirPod Pro’s charging icon and the charging case when they are active charging.

If at least one of your AirPods are inside the charging case, you will not see the battery level.  If Chromebook does not have the Play Store, the Bluetooth icon can be used to check the battery level.

View the Charge Status for Windows

A battery monitor app is required if you are using Windows 10 and Windows 11. While Windows displays battery information for most Bluetooth devices (including AirPods), it is not the norm. MagicPods, which supports ear detection, is a great choice. You can try the app free of charge and pay a small fee to purchase it. Check it out at https://magicpods.app.  If you don’t want to pay for apps, simply Use the color of the status lights on your case and find out if your AirPods have been charged.

How do you charge AirPods Pro?

You can charge your AirPods using a wired power supply

You will need a cable connection to charge the AirPods case. This is for models older than the first and second-generation AirPods.

Step 1: Place your AirPods into the charging case. All AirPods come with a charging bag that stores and protects the earbuds, while charging them up. The first thing you should do is to return the AirPods to their charging case.

The AirPods lock in each case differently. For example, the AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro have their speaker tips facing out. The correct way to insert your AirPods should be obvious. If an AirPod is placed correctly, the status light should flash.

The AirPods Max are the exception to this rule. These over-ear headphones don’t come with a charging case so this step can be skipped as the charging connector is actually located on your AirPods Max.

Step 2:  Connect your charging device to a power source using a Lightning cable.  You’ll find a Lightning port at the bottom of your AirPod Case. This is how you can recharge your case. When your AirPods are connected to an Apple mobile device, you will be able to see the battery status for each AirPod as well as the charging case. This is useful if you need to know when it’s time to charge.

Step 3: The Lightning to USB cable that came with your AirPods was for charging. This cable can be connected to any compatible adapter (but Apple’s adapters are recommended) or to a USB port of your computer. The Lightning end can be connected to the charging case and it will start charging.

Your power adapter might have a USB C port, even if you have an older iPhone. To get the outlet charging compatibility you require, you might need one of Apple’s USB-C Lightning Cables.

Charging your AirPods wirelessly

Can the Airpods be charged wirelessly using Bluetooth? It depends on what type of case you have. The case included with the first-generation AirPods does not support wireless charging so you will need to use a cable.

The AirPods 2 had two versions: one that did not support wireless charging and another version that supported wireless charging (buyers usually had the option to upgrade to wireless charging cases when they purchased directly from Apple). You’ll need to verify which version you have. All versions of the AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro come with a wireless charging bag.

You can also purchase a separate wireless charging case. The case can be used with the AirPods 1 and 2, so you can upgrade.  All you need now is a wireless charging cable

Use a Bluetooth charger

A Qi-standard wireless charger is required if you have a wireless charging case. The good news? Most wireless chargers available on the market are compatible with the Qi standard. This allows you to choose the model that you prefer. Apple’s MagSafe charger is compatible with the AirPods Case. There are also many great options from Logitech, Belkin, and other manufacturers. You can even use one place to charge all your devices, including iPhones, Apple Watches and AirPods.

Step 1 After you have purchased a wireless charging pad, plug the outlet into your AirPod case and position it on top of it. The indicator light should come on and stay on to indicate when the case is charging.  You may be wondering how to charge your AirPods Pro wireless charging case.

Step 2 For more information, please refer to the charging status light

Each AirPods case comes with a status light or indicator that will keep you informed about charging status. The status light for the original non-wireless charging case is located on the inside. You will need to open it. The status light is on the outside of all other cases.

If the case light turns amber, that means there is less than one remaining charge and it’s time for you to charge it up. The status light can be checked by opening the charging case. If the light turns green, it means that the charging case is fully charged.

How do I Know if My Airpod Case is Charging?

The front light will turn amber when you place your AirPods case into a wireless charger or plug it in. It will eventually turn off after a while. However, you can still open the case to check if it is still amber. This indicates that it’s charging. If the green light is lit, it means that there is a full charge.

How Long Does it Take to Charge AirPods Pro?

Your AirPods should be charged as soon as possible. It will take approximately an hour for the AirPods to fully charge. Once your AirPods are placed inside, it should take around 20 minutes to charge them up.

Should AirPods Pro light be on When Charging?

After the AirPod case has been charged, the status light will stay on for 8 seconds. It’s charging when it flashes a steady orange or amber light. This light indicates that everything is functioning well.

What Does Orange Light on AirPods Pro Mean?

The AirPods’ LED indicator will flash orange if they have made an error that cannot be fixed. The AirPods can be reset factory-wide and then reconnected to your device.

Why do AirPods Pro Come with USB-C cable?

You can charge your AirPods, AirPods Pro and iPhone with a USB-C cable to Lightning cable. Also, it charges a Siri Remote and allows you to charge your iPad, iPhone, iPad and iPad.

Here are some things you can do using a USB-C cable to Lightning.

  • When your device is connected to a USB port, you can charge your AirPods, AirPods Pro or iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
  • Some iPhone models can be fast-charged when they are connected to USB-C power adapters via the Apple USB-C-to-Lightning cable.
  • Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to a USB port on your Mac or computer and you can sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or import your photos.
  • A Siri Remote can be charged when it is connected to a USB port on a Mac, PC or USB-C power adapter.
  • Accessories like the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad are available to charge Apple.
  • Connect your iPhone to a Lightning cable and use it as a Personal Hotspot.

Is it Okay to Leave AirPods Charging Overnight?

AirPods and their cases have Lithium-ion battery packs that can be damaged by overcharging. However, AirPods cases are designed so that the battery is fully charged before it stops charging.

Once the battery has fully charged, your AirPod case will stop charging. It is safe to leave your AirPod case connected to the lightning cable or Qi mat overnight. You will not face any penalties or overcharging.

Can I Charge AirPods with iPhone Charger?

A USB-C or Lightning Cable can be used. Plug the other end into a USB port or charger. Your AirPods can be charged with or without the cable. You can charge your iPhone or iPad faster if you use an iPhone/iPad USB charger, or plug into your Mac.

Why is My AirPods Pro not Charging?

  1. When charging wirelessly, ensure that the charging case is facing up on the charging mat. If the charger is properly aligned, the status light will turn off after 8 seconds.
  2. Double-check your connections. Connect to a charger if you don’t see the charging light on your AirPods Pro.  A wireless charger must be connected with a power source if it is to be used. The charging cable must be securely connected to the charger’s power port. Make sure that the other end is connected to a working power source such as a wall socket, or powered USB port.
  3. You can use a Lightning-to-USB cable to charge your phone. Remove the cable and reconnect it to the power source. If the light doesn’t come on immediately after you connect the case to your charger, either try another power source or a different charging method.
  4. Use a different charger or charging cable. Your AirPods may not be charged if your charging cable or charger isn’t Apple-certified. Use the original cable or an Apple-certified Lightning USB cable.
  5. Clean your AirPods Pro. If your charging case isn’t charging, debris could be preventing your earbuds connecting to the case.
  6. Reset your AirPods. Resetting your AirPods is a good option if your AirPods won’t charge and you have exhausted all other options.  Close the lid and place the AirPods in the charging case.
  7. After waiting 30 seconds, open the lid and keep your AirPods in there. Keep the AirPods in the case by removing the cover.  If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad, hold down the setup button until the light turns amber, then white. To reset, release your finger.

Conclusion: Charging AirPods Pro

AirPods cases are the best way to keep your AirPods safe and secure. Make sure to keep them clean and out of direct sunlight.

How to Charge Your AirPods Pro Faster

In case you have to charge your AirPods pro quickly, you can disable Optimized battery Charging. We do not recommend permanently disabling this feature. If you turn it off, it is a good idea for you to reenable it once you no longer require rapid charging. This will ensure that your AirPods Pro’s battery lasts as long as possible.

If you are in an emergency and absolutely need to charge your AirPods Pro immediately, here is what to do:

  1. Connect your AirPods Pro with your iPhone or iPad. This involves taking the AirPods Pro from the case and sticking them in the ears. They will usually connect to your iPhone or iPad automatically.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your device.
  3. Tap the button beside AirPods Pro.
  4. Scroll down to disable Optimized Batterie Charging.
  5. You will be prompted to confirm your action by a popup on your iPhone after you have done this. To temporarily disable it, you can choose Turn off Until Tomorrow. This is probably a good choice for the reasons listed above. You can also choose Turn off to permanently disable optimized battery Charging (until it is turned back on manually).

After your AirPods Pro are fully charged, you can follow these steps to reenable Optimized battery charging. Or wait until it turns on again.

Can AirPods be Charged with the Case Open

Your AirPods will charge even if the lid is closed and they are still inside the case. To check if your AirPods are charging correctly, you can simply look at the LED light outside the case. If there is no amber or red light, then the AirPods have not been charged in case.

You can either close the lid and charge it, or you can try quick fixes such as changing the lightning cable if it is worn. The case should not be opened to charge your AirPods.
