Avantree Opera Design

Avantree Opera Base Design

The Avantree Opera is a black monolith with multiple functions including: an input/output connector, Bluetooth transmitter, charging base, and headphone storage stand.

The base has three copper contacts that can charge headphones when they are placed on top. The headphones are connected or charging by the prominent LED color band that runs halfway up the base. The front of the base is sleek and simple with On, Off and Pair as the only options provided.

Set up to cast sound to a TV soundbar or receiver was as simple as plugging in the optical cable to a receiver input and then connect the OPT input to the headphones. Simple and reliable connectivity to a television with audio output set to PCM.

Opera Headphone Design

Opera headphones feel and look like Bluetooth headphones manufactured for value-minded consumers.  While they do not have the strength of more expensive headphones, they are decently durable.

Earpads can be folded in ninety degrees for additional mobility.  Earcups are well-padded and good for long-term usage for various head sizes and shapes.  Easy to use controls with up/down volume, pause/play and status light.  The left earcup does have a 3.5mm socket with mute, answer, and an EQ button.

Avantree Opera headphones provide good passive sound isolation with the ability to silence audio or completely skip annoying ads.

Avantree Aria Pro

The Avantree Aria Pro wireless headphones we tested have elevated the game of the company.  Avantree opted to straddle budget-focused consumers and quality-minded consumers with the Aria Pro.

We found the Aria Pro headphones as an ambitious effort by Avantree.  They are replete with ANC, codec support, and great overall sound quality.  With that being said, we jump into a quick overview before deep diving the aesthetics and specs of the Aria Pro headphones.

Avantree Aria Pro: Pros

  • Flexible design
  • Comfortable earpads and headband
  • Detachable headphone boom included
  • Decent active noise cancellation
  • Good codec support
  • Pleasing sound signature

Avantree Aria Pro: Cons

  • Battery life average
  • Only available in black color
  • Niche headphones for targeted audience

Avantree Aria Pro Design

The Aria Pro Avantree headphones are a great value for the money. Although they lack the elegant design of a Sony or Sennheiser, the Aria Pro headphones are flexible and comfortable.

Avantree describes the Aria Pro as having a “protein leather” construction of their distinctive earpads. The earpads are comfortable enough to wear for long periods without the typical fatigue. Aria’s headphones can be angled 90 degrees to fit comfortably on your neck and allow for a good range of movement in terms of tilting back and forward. We found that the Aria Pro Avantree headphones should be a comfortable fit for most head sizes and ear sizes.

Avantree Aria Pro Features

The engineers that worked on the Aria Pro seemed to land in the middle of many features with some exceptional upgrades and others below the water line.  At the end of the day, you can decide what is important to you and determine what you can and cannot live without.

Avantree claims the Aria Pro can be used up to fifteen hours with ANC activated and fully twenty-four hours without ANC.  The Aria Pro has impressive audio codecs included like the aptX and aptX HD which gives them a clear boost over others in this price category.

Another benefit of the Aria Pro is the multipoint Bluetooth connection.  A multipoint Bluetooth connection allows users to pair headphones with both a phone and laptop concurrently.  While it may not seem ground-breaking, the ability to take a call and immediately toggle back to music is far less cumbersome than what taking the time to pair your headphones again.

Aria Pro Audio Quality

With respect to audio quality, we found the Aria Pro in the mix with upper-tier headphones while carrying a price tag nearly half of these competitors.  Aria Pro headphones from Avantree are clear with great frequency range.  The overall fidelity is not in the top 10% of headphones but laudable nonetheless.

We found the call quality to be split between usage with and without the boom microphone.  Taking a call with the boom mic and the clarity was solid with minimal interference.  However, the smaller mic from the headset was not as user-friendly as it picked up substantive sounds.  It became obvious the Aira Pro headphones are best suited for home or office use with the boom mic attached.

Aria Pro ANC

We found the Aria Pro ANC to be straightforward and easily utilized.  The on/off feature of the ANC is a nice plus over the competition.  The Aria Pro did a quality job of blocking harsh outside sounds with a slight white noise effect which would be ideal for office use.  You will need to invest in high-end headphones to get premium ANC but the Aria Pro’s did a good job overall.

Avantree Connects and then Disconnects Bluetooth

Sometimes Bluetooth can disconnect due to software bugs, errors, file path corruptions, or other similar issues. You may also be experiencing an issue with software updates.

Low Battery. Your wireless headset may be running on a permanently rechargeable battery. Low battery power can cause intermittent disconnections and problems with the headset’s ability to keep a steady connection. After charging your headset for 15 minutes, you can reconnect it to the device.

If charging the battery does not work, simply turn off the Bluetooth feature on your phone.  Wait a 30 seconds and activate Bluetooth to pair your connection again with the Avantree headphones.

Avantree Audiplex 2403s

Specifications

  • Technology: 2.4GHz
  • Frequency Response: 20Hz – 20kHz
  • Latency: 30ms
  • Music Play Time: TX 4 hours, RX 7 hours
  • Charging time: 1.5 hours
  • Lithium battery: 450mAH
  • Operating Range: Maximum 100ft/30m

Avantree Audiplex 2403s wireless kit is a 1-Transmitter and 3-Receiver Stereo Channel transmitter stereo channel. It can connect multiple headphones simultaneously to one audio source with no delay.  Additionally, you can customize the volume of the connected headphones and scale receivers to meet your changing needs.

The Audiplex 2403s allows you and your friends to watch an outdoor movie without  disturbing neighbors.  Audiplex has three built-in receivers so it can be scalable and connected to 100 receivers.

Since you hear different tones and pitches differently than your friends, a one-size-fits-all approach is less than optimal.  Audiplex 2403s solves this by allowing each receiver to customize headphone or speaker volume independently.

The 2403s transmitter dongle can transmit audio from any audio device with an AUX/Optical jack. This includes TV, Projectors, Stereo Receivers (via 6.35mm adapter), Bluray Player, Blu-ray Player, and some electric musical instruments. Basically, you are able to utilize the receiver dongles with any audio device that supports AUX/Optical.

Audiplex wireless kit uses the 2.4Ghz technology (NOT Bluetooth), for broadcasting audio. It reduces audio lag to 7ms, which is significantly lower than the 220ms Standard Bluetooth and 40ms of the aptX Low Latency. No matter how many receivers are connected, you will not experience any lip-sync delay which is a huge plus.

The batteries in the Audiplex 2403s wireless microphone are rechargeable and will typically last seven hours after a full charge.  It is important to note that dongles can be charged to a portable charging device or wall outlet while in use to extend the entertainment event.  Avantree Audiplex allow you to clip the dongle to a chair or clothing to help keep it in place and offer an intuitive UI to control your volume, pair devices, and manage status lights.

All Avantree products can be utilized together in a seamless fashion.  In fact, the Avantree Duet, Avantree Quartet 5049, and Avantree Audiplex 2403s kits all use the same technology which allows you to pair your headphones interchangeably. The headphones of the Duet can be used with transmitters from the Quartet 549 and Audiplex 2403s to listen or watch. The headphones of the Quartet 5049 or Audiplex 2403s can also be used with the other transmitters.

Dual Link, on the other hand, allows you to connect two wireless headphones. This is ideal for families with hearing impairments or those who don’t want others disturbed (think sleeping babies or a small apartment with resting roommates). Two Avantree compatible headphones can be connected to each other, allowing for low latency operation.
